Jee Young Sim is a visual and sound artist based in Berlin. Her work explores sculptural, spatial, and social potential of sound. By using her voice, site-specific acoustics, audio equipment, and collaborative efforts from various musicians, Jee’s performances and recordings embody transformative, temporal, sonic and social dimensions of architecture in relation to surrounding cultural and political geography. Her visual works, sound performances, and concerts have been featured at institutions including Tete (Berlin), HAU 2 (Berlin), The 4th Anyang Public Project (Anyang), Agape Enterprise (NYC), Real Fine Arts (NYC), Overgaden Institut (Copenhagen), The Center of Contemporary Art (Lagos), Park Ave Armory (NYC), Hosfelt Gallery (San Francisco), Brooklyn Museum (NYC), Museum of Contemporary Art (Cleveland).
